12,781 new Covid-19 cases, 18 deaths in India

India recorded 12,781 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, raising the number of cases to 4,33,09,473, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll rose to 5,24,873 with 18 new deaths.

Of these 18 deaths, 3 were in Delhi, one each in Maharashtra, Punjab, West Bengal, and Karnataka, and 11 in Kerala.

Maharashtra continues to top India's Covid-19 rankings. In the last 24 hours, 4,004 new cases have been reported in the state, including 2,087 in Mumbai. This was followed by 3,376 cases in Kerala and 1,530 in Delhi. Besides, Assam has registered nine new Covid-19 cases.

A further 8,537 people have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of survivors to 4,27,07,900.

A total of 2,96,050 tests were conducted across the country, bringing the total to 85.81 crores.

2,80,136 Covid-19 vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours.

According to the ministry, 1,96,18,66,707 crore COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
