3,000 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and more than 10,000 were wounded in the war with Russia.
As the Russia-Ukraine war continues to escalate, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says 3,000 soldiers have been killed and at least 10,000 wounded. Zelenskyy, who suffered from the effects of the war, said it was difficult to say how many of Putin's troops would survive.
Following Russia's withdrawal from Kyiv, the bodies of more than 900 civilians were found in the area around the Ukrainian capital, most of whom were shot dead, and many were "simply hanged," police said Friday.
Moscow has continued preparations for a renewed offensive in eastern Ukraine after Russia's Defense Ministry promised to step up missile strikes on Kyiv in retaliation for alleged attacks by Ukraine on Russian territory.
As the war continued, locals in the southern port city of Mariupol reported seeing Russian troops digging up bodies. Seven people, including a 7-month-old baby, were killed and 34 were injured in a shelling attack in the northeastern city of Kharkiv, according to regional governor Oleh Sinehubo.
