1,033 new Covid-19 cases in India, 43 deaths in 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, 1,033 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in India, according to the Union Ministry of Health.

With 43 new deaths, India's Covid-19 death toll has risen to 5,21,530.

In the last 24 hours, 1,222 people have recovered from the infection, bringing the total number of cured in the country to 4,24,98,789.

As of April 6, 79,25,09,451 samples had been tested for COVID-19, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research  (ICMR). Of these, 4,82,039 samples were tested on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, India on Wednesday reported the first case of the XE variant of the corona virus in Mumbai. BMC officials said a case of kappa variation was also detected during the sero survey.

This is the same variation that caused a steep rise in new Covid-19 cases in Europe and China last month. The XE variant is a mutation of the BA.1 and BA.2 omicron strains, referred to as the "restoration".

The symptoms of this new variant are different for those who have been vaccinated and those who have not been vaccinated. Common symptoms - fever, sore throat, itchy throat, cough and runny nose, skin irritation and discoloration, gastrointestinal pain, etc. Early symptoms - fatigue, dizziness, headache, sore throat, muscle aches and fever.

The total amount administered in the country so far under the Covid-19 vaccination drive across the country has crossed 185.20 crores.
