19,740 new Covid-19 cases and 248 deaths reported in India

India has reported 19,740 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, seven per cent less than yesterday when the country registered 21,257 cases. 248 people have died due to corona in the country.

In Kerala, 10,944 new COVID-19 cases and 120 deaths have been reported, with an infection number of 47,74,666 and a death toll of 26,072.The state government has decided to add 7,000 people affected by the epidemic to its official death list amid opposition protests claiming that Govt deaths in Kerala were less blamed.

Delhi has recorded zero deaths with a positive rate of 0.06 per cent due to Covid-19 and 39 new cases. As per the order of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, Delhi government employees and teachers who have not received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will not be allowed to come to their workplaces from October 16.

There are 2,620 new coronavirus cases reported in Maharashtra, taking the state's caseload to 65,73,092. Of these, 532 new Covid-19 cases and 8 deaths were reported in Mumbai.

Mizoram record 950 new Covid-19 cases and 1 death in the last 24 hours, said the state health bulletin.

West Bengal Covid-19 cases increased to 15,74,801.
