Mobile Verification Toolkit will help to detect Pegasus spyware

This tool tells you if NSO’s Pegasus spyware targeted your phone

Israel's NSO group's Pegasus spyware is once again focusing on global information on how it was used to spy on journalists, ministers and businessmen. The tool is said to be capable of extracting complete data from the victim's phone, including calls and texts.

According to Amnesty International, which has conducted technical and forensic analysis of several infected phones, they have observed instances where Pegasus devices have been affected by a ‘zero-click’ operation, meaning that the victim does not need to be associated with a malicious connection.

Testing your phone for Pegasus spyware is not an easy task, thanks to Amnesty researchers who worked on a tool called MVT or Mobile Verification Toolkit. Interestingly, you can also check for other malicious applications on the device.

How to check if your phone is infected with Pegasus spyware?

The open-source toolkit is available to anyone interested in a look at the kit, which can be explored and verified for its authenticity. This project is available here. To run device verification successfully, you need to understand a little about how to use the tool and how to run the line code.
