CBSE Board Exam 2021: Education Minister

CBSE Board Exam 2021: What Education Minister said

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishak was live on Twitter today  to discuss with students about the upcoming board and competitive exams.

On the issue of postponing the CBSE Board Examination 2021, the Education Minister pointed out that the schedule for the Board Examination is usually set in advance.

In the CBSE board 2021 practical exams, attendance remains low despite the reopening of schools in 17 states, Pokri said. If the situation is not yet conducive to conducting practical examinations, the Board may introduce alternatives. However, he noted that the practical examination is conducted at the students' own school and can be conducted when the SOPs are most comfortable.

Regarding the reduction of JEE and NEET 2021 syllabi, the Minister of Education said that discussions were underway and that it was possible to change the paper format in competitive examinations (such as introducing exams or giving fewer questions from removed areas). He noted recommendations to reduce the curriculum by 10 to 20 percent. However, there is no indication that this will be done.

Responding to a question on the cancellation of NEET 2021, Education Minister Ramesh Pokri also ruled out the possibility of canceling any exam. He said the exams were held even with the epidemic in 2020 and the students were happy with the decision taken by the government and the Supreme Court. Instead of wasting the year, move on with the exams. All the same, the exams will definitely be conducted.

With regard to the postponement of JEE and NEET 2021 exams, Pokri shared that all steps will be taken to provide the exam dates to the students expeditiously. Students' observations and questions are mentioned, discussions are played, decisions on JEE and NEET 2021 exam dates are made and announced according to the circumstances.
