UK Shipped 21containers of illegal waste Shipped to Sri Lanka

Officials said on Saturday that Sri Lanka had begun sending 242 hazardous waste from mortgages, including body parts, to Britain after a two-year court war by the Environment Monitoring Committee.

Local authorities found the containers - which were shipped to Sri Lanka in 2017 - described as illegal items, mattresses and rugs, which were exported for reuse.

Environmental agency (EA) enforcement officials in the UK will seek to ascertain the types of waste sent illegally and who exported it.
