Following reports that a political party by the name of Tamil actor Vijay was registered with the Election Commission of India, his promoter shared the actor's statement, where SA Chandrasekhar said that Vijay had no direct or indirect connection with himself and the registered party.

Vijay's father SA Chandrasekaran has filed an application with the Election Commission to register the actor's fan club as a political party.

Chandrasekaran has been named the party's general secretary. Apart from this, Vijay's mother Sofa Chandrasekhar has been named treasurer and cousin Padmanabhan the president. The party is named 'All India Commander Vijay People's Alliance'.
