Farmers protest LIVE: Farm bodies say won't accept conditional talks



Farmer leaders from Punjab are meeting on Sunday to decide on their next course of action. Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police said that the Tigris border has been closed to any traffic as farmers continue to oppose the centre’s farm laws.


He said passengers traveling from other states to the national capital were facing problems due to road blockade on the Singhu border (Delhi-Haryana border).


Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday appealed to the farmers to shift to Purari ground in the national capital as they staged protests.


After a day-long clash on the Singh-Tigri border in Delhi-Haryana, Delhi Police on Friday allowed thousands of farmers to enter Delhi for a planned protest against the new central farm laws.


Even after the Delhi Police announced that they could be taken away by the police, tear gas was fired at regular intervals and water sprays pushed back the crowd as many wanted to march towards the Ramlila ground in Delhi. Punjab farmers are demanding the repeal of the new farm laws, which they said should be changed to another law designed after extensive consultation with stakeholders. They also want a guarantee at a minimum support price.
